I've been in academic research since graduating with my PhD in 2004.
I have a few grants under my belt and continue to investigate diseases like diabetes and hypertension in the hope to uncover the hidden mechanisms that drive them.
My research focuses on the mechanisms regulating the intrarenal renin-angiotensin system during cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and obesity.
I pioneered the studies demonstrating the impact of the interaction of prorenin and the prorenin receptor in the development of hypertension and chronic kidney diseases.
My research has been funded by the AHA, the NIDDK of the NIH, and the NIAID of the NIH.
Meet the team helping me carry out my research
who they are & where are they now?
We love to have a good time. As they say in New Orleans, laissez les bon temps rouler.
Whether it's a birthday, another paper published, a graduation, or just a pretty day here in the south, we love to celebrate the accomplishments of those around us. Here's a few of the fun times we've had!
